The democratic process in Alabama, through its elected representatives, senator, and governor, came up with a law that makes it a felony to do an abortion, with a possible penalty of up to 99 years in jail.

And that has the opposition doing, well, strange things.

For example, there was the mostly nude image Hollywood celeb Emily Ratajkowski posted on social media.

Twitchy, the social media aggregator, helped her message along, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, with, “Take that, Alabama!”

“Posing naked will totally teach those old white men in Alabama a lesson. And that lesson is … anti-abortion legislation makes beautiful women’s clothes fall off?” it said.

Critics pointed out that Ratajkowski did inject racism into the dispute by identifying 25 old “white men.”

The law was adopted with the intention of eventually seeing it move up to the Supreme Court in a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade. Opponents already had confirmed they were drafting the legal paperwork to start that process.

Fox News reported others from Hollywood also were imparting their knowledge to the rest of the world.

“Of those 25 men who voted to ban abortion in Alabama, I’d like to know how many of them have ever been pregnant,” worte comedian Chelsea Handler. “Or have gotten pregnant as a result of rape. I’d like to know how many of those men know exactly what it is like to be a woman. The answer is zero.”

Barbra Streisand warned, “Handmade’s Tale from the GOP.”

Lady Gaga wrote, “It is an outrage to ban abortion in Alabama period, and all the more heinous that it excludes those (sic) have been raped or are experiencing incest non-consensual or not. So there’s a higher penalty for doctors who perform these operations than for most rapists? This is a travesty and I pray for all these women and young girls who will suffer at the hands of this system”

Michelle Wolf promoted fundraising on the issue.

Actor Chris Evans, the leftist of Marvel’s Captain America fame, and star of the earlier “Fantastic Four,” warned about paying attention to “roe v. wade.”

Actress Mia Farrow posted an image of the legislators who supported the abortion limit:

Amber Tamblyn posted, “This is war.”

Lin-Manuel Miranda said, “Let’s go.”

Alyssa Milano called it “the GOP’s war on women.”

Michael Moore cryptically wrote only, “Talibama.”

Jane Lynch, of “Glee” notoriety, screamed, “THE GOAL IS TO CONTROL WOMEN.”

CBS reportred Gov. Kay Ivey signed the bill almost immediately, announcing it affirms “Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious & that every life is a sacred gift from God.”

The Human Life Protection Act prohibits abortion or attempted abortion in Alabama unless the life of mother is in danger. It’s a felony, with a possible prison term of 99 years.

Social Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., blamed, according to Fox, “Twitter’s character limitations – and the reading skills of her critics” after she spread misinformation about the plan.

She said it would jail women, but that’s not the case.

When Liz Plank asked “men” to talk about their benefits from abortion, Christian Finnegan discussed a long-past relationship, and a resulting abortion.

“Just about everything good in my life can be traced back to us not having that child,” Finnegan wrote.

Wrote Twitchy, “Killing an inconvenient child has done wonders for his career! Isn’t that special?”

When “blue-check author” Sarah Tuttle-Singer demanded from pro-lifers what they’ve done for low-income single mothers, the result perhaps wasn’t in alignment with her agenda.

Dear Pro-Life friends: what have you *personally* done to support lower income single mothers? I’ll wait:” she wrote.

Almost immediately, thousands of people were responding, and most were legitimately putting her in her place:

“I’ve spent the last 15 years serving breakfast once a month at a homeless shelter and making lunches for the same shelter once a month on a separate weekend. Your bad faith garbage argument is irrelevant, but I hope your happy with your supposed mic drop,” wrote “Mo Mo.”

Federalist Musket said, “I’m the president of the board of directors for our local domestic violence shelter. Oh, and I don’t slice up tiny unborn women.”

LaurieAnn said, “Every year I ‘adopt’ a single mom with children from our local shelter. I help her with food … diapers … clothes for the baby and siblings. She has my number … can call me any time. She normally doesn’t tho. She wants to do it herself. Warriors.”

Mary Elizabeth said, “When I shop, I buy baby stuff to donate to the local pregnancy centers. I’ve also lost count of the money I’ve donated to charities that help these mothers. It’s sad that you think we don’t walk the walk. Don’t be so bitter.”

George Wept wrote, “I adopted a child because his birth mother decided that she was unable to parent him.”

By the way, Habitual Linestepper wondered of Tuttle-Singer, “What have you done?”
